Welcome to our FAQs. Here you'll find clear answers to the most important questions about our practice, treatments, and procedures. Still have questions after reading this? Please feel free to contact us. We're happy to help!

What makes FysioHulp so special?

The biggest difference at FysioHulp is that we don't treat symptoms. While many practices focus solely on the painful area, we use the specialized KDS Method: we always examine the entire musculoskeletal system.

With 25 years of experience and specialized expertise, we know that the cause of the complaint often lies somewhere else.

What is your vision?

Because we believe in a comprehensive approach, we work closely with an extensive network of specialized physiotherapists and other healthcare providers. If your complaint requires an approach outside our direct expertise, we will ensure a smooth transition to the right specialist. We ensure you always receive the best possible care.

What are the physiotherapy options?

To give you the most reliable diagnosis, we use advanced resources, if necessary, that are not standard with regular physiotherapists:

  • Ultrasound (Looking into the tissue): For a direct and accurate image of your injury.

  • EMG examination (Tension measurement): To objectively determine the functional status of your muscles.

  • Posture analysis with software: To unravel the complex relationship between your posture and the complaints.

  • And more

In short: At FysioHulp, you receive a thorough, factual analysis, so you're no longer treated for the consequences, but for the actual cause. This makes it easier to choose the right treatment for you. We do this, if necessary, in collaboration with the best specialists in the region.

For which complaints can I go to Fysiohulp?

We treat all complaints of the musculoskeletal system (orthopedic complaints), including:

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain

  • Knee, hip and ankle complaints

  • Sports injuries

  • Chronic pain complaints

  • Work-related complaints (RSI, mouse arm)

  • Postoperative recovery

Do I need a referral letter?

No, since 2006, you can see a physiotherapist without a referral. You can come directly to us.

Is physiotherapy covered by my insurance?

Physiotherapy has contracts with all health insurers. Reimbursement depends on your policy. If you have supplementary insurance for physiotherapy, the invoice will be sent to your insurer (unless all treatments have been used up). Contact your insurer for specific information.

If you do not have additional insurance, the rates stated on the website apply.

When should I book an intake?

Do you have a new complaint, or was your last visit more than three months ago? Then we'd be happy to schedule a one-hour intake for you. We'll thoroughly explore the source of your complaints and whether there are any new causes, even if you've treated the same complaint before. This way, we ensure you receive the right care.

How many treatments do I need?

That depends on your complaint, how long you've had it, and how your body responds to the treatment. After the intake, we'll create a treatment plan together, including an estimate of the number of treatments. We always strive for the best and shortest course of action for you. You'll also be given exercises to do at home, with clear videos explaining what you can do. We also take into account the maximum number of treatments covered by your reimbursement, ensuring an efficient and targeted recovery process.

Will I receive a personal report after the intake?

After the intake, you'll always receive a clear summary of what we discussed via secure email. This allows you to review everything at your leisure. We'll explain in plain language how your complaint relates to your body (and, if applicable, your well-being) and where the potential cause lies. This personalized report will support your recovery and provide guidance for any subsequent steps.

Where is FysioHulp located?

You'll find FysioHulp in Amsterdam Oud-West, at Derde Kostverlorenkade 2, near the Overtoom and Surinameplein, and close to exit 6 of the A10 (Amsterdam West/Osdorp). Our central location is easily accessible by car and public transport. For added privacy, we only share our email address and telephone number with clients after registration.

What specializations does Alexander Kudus have?

  • Physiotherapist with 25+ years of experience

  • Clinical Epidemiologist

  • Musculoskeletal sonographer

  • Biofeedback therapist

  • Innovation therapist

What does Clinical Epidemiologist mean?

A Clinical Epidemiologist is knowledgeable about scientific research and helps us understand what, according to current insights, is effective. While there is a wealth of research available, not all of it is equally reliable. Sometimes it contains errors or is driven by vested interests. Therefore, we critically examine the quality of the evidence and combine this with our practical experience. This allows us to determine, with a well-founded yet open mind, what works best for you.
